Bruce Fuller, author of Standardized Childhood: The Political and Cultural Struggle Over Early Education and professor of Education and Public Policy at UC Berkeley, has been contributing to the New York Times' Campaign Stops: Strong Opinions on the 2008 Election blog.
Fuller weighs in on topics such as John McCain's misconceptions regarding school vouchers and the bilingual education debate. Most recently he wrote a November 8 blog entry that provides clear, specific educational policy advice for our new president-elect Barack Obama, including recommendation of an economic stimulus package to help repair schools and increase employment.
Keep checking on Fuller's Campaign Stops posts to see if President Obama, who vocally supported increased funding for Pre-K education during his campaign, heeds his advice when the new administration moves in next year.
Standardized Childhood is now available in paperback.
